In the first half of “Hey You” the instrumental is put together by a well-padded toned line and punchy drums whilst soothing vocals glide over the beat. However as the track progresses, we’re welcome to a myriad of surprises.

One of these surprises and stand-out moments is definitely the inrush of these sparkly wedding that seamlessly vaccinate onto our memory by virtue of their catchiness. I can say the same for the chorus particularly when the words “hey you” are echoed. The irony is that this sounds like quite an upbeat and positive track, whilst the lyrics unveil a variegated story.

“The song is well-nigh the cures society sells for our problems medication, television, social media and how they usually just make things worse.”
